Maybe that's a good place toward which you can point the older people you know... What's interesting is that people of different generations use the internet and social networking in different ways. E-mail, for instance, is now used mainly by people around my age (that being 60). The high schoolers I know don't even have e-mail accounts. I myself can't ever imagine sending text messages, and real-time chatting drives me crazy. Facebook is, at least for now, a meeting place across the generations. I would suggest, based on my own comfort level, that blogs would be a way for older folks to share their experiences and thoughts. Especially, at first, blogs that are only open to family and friends. Privacy is an issue for "old people"! You make a good point.
