Hey! That's a neat thing that I did not know existed! Thanks!

But I'm thinking it could be made much easier with a flash app that uploads to youtube. Story telling and recording should be as easy as possible. But it's nice to see that stories are being collected...

I was going to say that The Center for Digital Storytelling (http://www.storycenter.org/about.html) has got your back re: your primary sources idea, but I didn't see any programs from them that were specifically intended for older folks. Maybe that's a good place toward which you can point the older people you know...

You make a good point. What's interesting is that people of different generations use the internet and social networking in different ways. E-mail, for instance, is now used mainly by people around my age (that being 60). The high schoolers I know don't even have e-mail accounts. I myself can't ever imagine sending text messages, and real-time chatting drives me crazy. Facebook is, at least for now, a meeting place across the generations. I would suggest, based on my own comfort level, that blogs would be a way for older folks to share their experiences and thoughts. Especially, at first, blogs that are only open to family and friends. Privacy is an issue for "old people"!
