In math people abstract for increased power to the detriment of understandability. When people get confused about an abstract concept, they are given a concrete example.
In computer science we abstract for increased clarity. When people are confused, they are given metaphors and perhaps examples of areas of usage, but never actual code. Code is too confusing.
